Store is an asset to neighborhood

I am writing in response to Susan Cranwell’s letter on Friday concerning the Safeway store at 17th and Broadway in Everett (“Put money into cleaning store first”).

I find her statement, “It is no secret the store has poor customer service and at times is absolutely filthy,” particularly offensive. I have been a customer of this store for many years. In my opinion, it is very clean and well arranged. If, perchance, I can’t find an item, there is always someone to help. Seldom have I been there and not seen someone busy sweeping the parking lot and putting away the shopping carts. I find all departments – bakery, fresh produce, dairy, meat and so forth, very clean and tidy. The employees – from manager, checkout clerks, boxboys and girls – are always courteous and helpful.

This store is an asset and a necessity in north Everett and a great neighbor!
