Our government is killing the salmon and whales by letting asphalt off roofs go from downspouts off buildings right into the storm drains and into Puget Sound and the ocean.
Biologists have said the number one thing filling up Puget Sound is asphalt off of roofing! It must be like coronavirus to fish!
One day I swept 16 gallons of loose asphalt up from 20 feet of flat roof above our deck that had washed off the house.
We need to cover these roofs with metal, wood shakes or shingles. Maybe we need a new vinyl roofing like they use for floor planking. Our government needs to ban asphalt roofing like they did asbestos.
I am not paying my Surface Water Management taxes!
