With a new generation of boys growing up in our community, we would like to increase the awareness of the benefits of a boy and his family becoming part of Boy Scouts of America.
Recognition of each boy, regardless of his ability or disability, is important. Participation in meetings, Scout activities and events is encouraged, and boys receive special segments to recognize their participation. Many Scouting activities stress cooperation, team building and spirit, more than competition and winning.
With the increased emphasis on patriotism since Sept. 11, 2001, Scouting offers a positive, healthy way for our new generation of young people to get involved, and demonstrate their willingness to serve others while developing their own character.
Adults who care about the future direction our young men are headed are invited to apply as an adult Scouter, take the excellent training offered for each adult leadership or committee position, read and use the printed materials that have evolved through over 90 years of Scouting in the USA. Contact the Mt. Baker Council, Boy Scouts of America Office 425-338-0380 to find out how you can help.
