Reading Joe Kikel’s letter to the editor (“Students should form own group,” June 13), I find it amusing that he begins with the statement, “The Marysville teachers’ strike was just another example of an attitude of entitlement that seems to be a Washington state motto.” Then he proceeds to whine about losing his summer vacation!
I for one believe you are right. Students should organize themselves, with everything that it takes to show up to class on time and complete their lessons. Then sit down, be quiet and pay attention. Maybe you would have learned to look at the big picture.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe you enjoyed your summer vacation already, as an extension of last summer’s vacation while the teachers were on strike.
It’s not too late. Go to school and get an education.
