My nephew, Robert Roskelley, invited me to his 9th grade band concert in Snohomish recently. Under the direction of Pete Wilson, the Jazz, Red and White bands showed us they were having fun together with their music. They realized with each individual adding their musical talents via their instruments, they could create something even more dynamic as a group. Each band member was a single motion adding to the whole of the project to play some “right smart” music. It was bigger than self. It was growing as a team.
Appreciate your public schools. They offer opportunity for our children in many ways. These Snohomish students were soaking it up and sharing it, and the audience was duly impressed.
