I was very pleased to see that the Herald editorial board identified Brian Sullivan as the best candidate for Snohomish County Council Position 2. I have known Brian for 34 years as his teacher, coach, friend and verbal sparring partner.
I continue to be exasperated by politicians who get elected and then vote the party line, their constituency’s best interests on the issue be damned! I can assure you I don’t worry about that happening with Brian Sullivan.
Brian’s strongest suit (among much strength) is his openness to both sides on an issue. He is well known as a uniter in our Legislature. His role in the memorial for Jack Metcalf is a classic example, going across party lines to give a good man his due, despite political differences they might have experienced.
Brian’s nature is especially important in this race, which is historically won once the Democratic candidate has been determined. People like me, who share very strong liberal and conservative leanings, depending on the issue, can be assured that their voices will not go unheard when Brian Sullivan is elected to our County Council. He will listen.
Brian Sullivan will vote his conscience and the best interests of the people he serves. I am sure of this because I know the man and how he has always conducted his life.
