On Jan. 12, the house we were building in Gold Bar burned down. On this day we saw a lot of our hopes and dreams go up in smoke. To our amazement, that day showed us loss and hope. This hope came from the large outpouring of emotional and financial support showed to us by all the people of Sultan and the Sky Valley. We have been so moved and surprised by this generous support that it gave us even more motivation to rebuild our house.
We were just about two months from moving in when the house burned. Our house is now being rebuilt and hopefully we will be able to move in about April or May.
We wanted everyone to know how much we appreciated all the support we have received. All of you have lifted our spirits. We were like everyone else going through our day-to-day routine, never thinking that something like this could have ever happened to us. We knew that we lived in a great place before this, now we know for sure that we were right to move out here and raise our daughter here.
I know that sometimes it seems that the only things we hear or see about our area are negative, but our situation should be proof enough that this is a caring and supportive place to live. We just can’t thank everyone enough. We were just so shocked and overwhelmed by it all that to just say thank you does not seem to be enough. So we hope when you read this, you will take it in the spirit it was written.
