Regarding the Jan. 29 article, “State tax dollars go to dry cleaning, art”: What is up with the Legislature having the taxpayers pay for their laundry? Laundry is a personal item and is way beyond something you charge the public for. Most people who work at any type of office need to look clean, neat and respectable, and they either do their own laundry or pay someone for that service.
Do the people who are in the military, those putting themselves out there so we can be a free nation get to charge the tax payers for that service? When my husband was in the Navy he brought his laundry home for me to do and when it was more than I could get right— need those creases in just perfect — we paid someone to do it. Gee, could I have billed the Navy?
Haven’t we got enough things that need fixing? Our tax dollars certainly could be put to better use.
