The front page story on the fourth-graders from Sunnyside Elementary hit home for these grandparents. (“Healing through music.”) Our two grandsons attended Sunnyside and had the awesome experience of learning music through recorders and the Orf Ensemble. Mrs. Brenda Ehrhardt is a dedicated teacher who has fought to keep music in the Marysville School District. She is patient with the students and brings out the best of every class she has taught. We were very fortunate to attend Veterans Day, Christmas, and spring concerts taught and directed by Brenda. It does not surprise us that the fourth-grade children of Marysville performed beautifully this week at the Seattle Symphony and took a wonderful memory with them. Thank you, Mrs. Ehrhardt for another year of music!
