Ichiro Suzuki has been with the Mariners 10 seasons. He gets his 200 hits per season, but what about the big picture? The Mariners haven’t done anything over those years. Ichiro gets 25 percent of his hits by beating out an infield ground ball, but what happens if there is a runner on base? What happens is it’s an easy force out, so Ichiro would lose 50-60 hits a season; Ichiro doesn’t want runners on base when he comes up.
Also, you’ll never see Ichiro dive for a fly ball. You’ll never see him crash into a wall to make a catch, which tells me he’s afraid of getting hurt and not getting his 200 hits. He’s not a team player!
