This past summer we endured bridge work on the southbound lane of Highway 529 between Marysville and Everett. Thanks to the construction of some access roads connecting the northbound and southbound lanes to allow lane changes to match the flow of morning and afternoon rush hour traffic, things worked out pretty well.
Now I see that those temporary roads have been completely removed as if there will never be a need to close down any of those bridges again. It is this type of shortsightedness that I find infuriating!
Did it really cost less to remove them and accomplish a pre-construction restoration than to just leave them idle?
