On Jan. 3, I had the sad task of saying goodbye to 10 years with the Snohomish County Juvenile Court. I take with me many fond memories of staff and youth I have worked with over the years. I have enjoyed meeting hundreds of youths and their parents and the interaction I have had. I have had many wonderful experiences in both the old juvenile facility and the new one. I can only hope that at some point during my time I made a positive impact on the lives of those youth with whom I came into contact.
I owe many thanks to some of the staff whom have spent decades in this field for helping me to grow as a person. For that, I am eternally grateful.
I owe a special thank you to the second floor support staff for opening my eyes to another aspect of human nature on how to treat others. Kindness, understanding and tolerance are the main things I will take with me as I enter into another phase of my life. Showing kindness to those on all sides who are going through difficult times, understanding their hurt and human needs, and tolerance of a fellow human being. Once again, a special thank you to the second floor support staff.
With that being said, I bid farewell to all of my friends and co-workers. It has been an enlightening learning experience, one that I will take with me for the rest of my life.
