I’m glad to have served 30 years to protect the right of Thursday’s letter writer (“Schools are no place for ideology”) to speak his beliefs freely and without fear of retribution. I didn’t notice a “thank you” anywhere in his opinion.
One day his ideals might be the norm of this world. Until the time when nation states all over drop their guards and do a big group hug, I’ll vote to keep our country militarily strong and positioned to protect the freedoms we all share.
