Thank you for ostomy awareness

I would like to extend my gratitude to Mayor Ray Stephanson for proclaiming Saturday, Oct. 6, “Ostomy Awareness Day” in the city of Everett. Upon receiving my request, he saw the importance of increasing public understanding and awareness of an ostomy and help dispel the stigma attached to this life-saving surgery. He joins Gov. Christine Gregoire and Congress designating not only this date as Ostomy Awareness Day, but also World Ostomy Day. Thank you for showing ostomates in a positive light living normal lives.
