We would like to express our gratitude to the teams from Snohomish County Search and Rescue and the Everett Mountain Rescue that helped to extract the body of our beloved, Xavier Engle, who drowned while kayaking in Class V whitewater in the Robe Canyon on Sunday, Nov. 30.
The operation was led by Sgt. Danny Wikstrom and Sgt. Scot Fenter. The men and woman on the highly skilled search and rescue teams had to work in extremely difficult terrain with roped climbers supported by helicopters.
Sgt. Randy Fae provided personal care and support to family members at the river site.
The teams’ professionalism and kindness needs to be commended. Thank you to the rescue unit of the Sheriff’s Department of Snohomish County and to Everett Mountain Rescue.
