Well, Everett did it again! Veterans Day brought lots of wind and rain, coupled with the fact it fell on a Sunday. We made 30 programs for the service at the eternal flame. At the welcoming service, 40 umbrellas appeared in the crowd.
Niles Fowler from the Navy League displayed flags and Girl Scout Troop 42149 held their flag and led the flag salute. Fleet reserve branch No. 170 placed a beautiful wreath in honor of their recently-passed president, Michael Mowatt.
Our guest speaker, Captain Coury, Commanding Officer of Naval Station Everett, presented us with a beautiful plaque for our past 32 years of service in the central memorial committee, honoring our veterans past and present.
We were honored and so surprised. Thank you, Capt. Michael Coury, and thank you Everett for your support in thanking our veterans for the last 32 years. Rain, or shine, we could not have done it without you.
