A big “thank you” to the participants who raised money and walked a 3-mile course in the 2008 Lifelines Walk MS, presented by Oh Boy! Oberto. The Walk MS for Snohomish County was held April 12 at the Tulalip Amphitheatre. Seven other walks were held across Western and Central Washington.
Donations continue to pour in. The goal for Snohomish County Walk MS is $250,000. Funds raised go to research, programs and services dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by multiple sclerosis. Some 8,500 people live with MS in our communities. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Washington Chapter provides services to these individuals.
A special “thank you” to all the dedicated volunteers, Quil Ceda Village for providing their assistance at the Amphitheatre site, the Tulalip Tribal Police and Naval cadets for assisting with traffic control, the Marysville Kiwanis Club for helping direct parking, and the Snohomish Kiwanis Club for cooking and serving lunch.
Another thank you to two students groups, the Key Club at Kamiak High School and Phi Beta Kappa Club at Everett Community College, who distributed Walk MS brochures to businesses around the community to help get the word out about the event.
All of these groups, the walkers and those who supported them played a vital role in making the Walk MS for Snohomish County a huge success. One day we’ll create a world free of MS.
