Thanks to all in Sultan for great event

The Sultan Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success thanks to the team of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the month of March, gathering candy, stuffing eggs and getting the word out.

I would like to thank some of our standout helpers. Thank you August Kummerfeldt and Jennifer Martin of Small Hands Childcare in Sultan for the goody bags! Thank you to the volunteers at the Sky Valley Visitors Information Center, who cheerfully stuffed thousands of eggs. Thank you Steve Tonkin and Snohomish County Fire District No. 5 for giving the Easter Bunny a ride to the event, and for generously donating a lot of candy.

I also have to give a shout out to my friends Marlene Wilson and Amelia Martinez for helping with all aspects of this event, from organizing to execution. We also appreciate Jeremy from the city of Sultan for his help setting up the various fields. Thank you, Crosswater Church, Safeway of Monroe and Vinaccios Coffee for the generous donations of candy and plastic eggs.

Finally, we want to give a big hurrah to our lovely mayor, Carolyn Eslick, who has been the driving force on this Sultan tradition for over two decades. This Easter Egg Hunt is one of the many ways she has of displaying her love for our town.

We thank everybody for coming out on what turned out to be a surprisingly dry Easter Egg Dash. We look forward to seeing everybody again next year!
