I have commuted (by public transit) for the past 25 years to Seattle from Snohomish County and I have to say the past few days have been smoother than in years past. So here’s a big thank you to the weather forecasters for scaring everyone away, and to the school districts for listening and canceling school, which leaves many with a good reason to stay home with there kids, thus reducing the volume of people going everywhere.
Then we need to thank all the people keeping websites up and running with information on bus schedules/cancellations, and cameras all over the place to see what traffic is really like. Then let’s thank all of those maintenance people who are driving snowplows and sander trucks for WSDOT, the counties and the cities — awesome job. All the people involved with removing blockages when they occur, the State Patrol, sheriffs, and police, along with tow truck drivers. Then there are all the bus drivers for Sound Transit, Community Transit, Everett Transit and Metro and the crews on Sounder trains to Seattle from Everett.
In an effort to get from Everett to Seattle and back I have used a lot the transit providers and they were where they said they would be. Thanks again for your public service to the community. Stay safe.
