Thanks to all who made event such a success

On July 14, the Washington Reading Corps (sponsored by Catholic Community Services) held a car wash to benefit Cocoon House. We raised over $600 and wish to thank all the community members who were indirectly involved with the success of our car wash. Thank you to The Herald for the time and space it took to get our information into the paper on short notice.

Thank you to Les Schwab at 4805 Evergreen Way for donating the parking lot and endless water!

Thank you to all the donors that fed 15 hungry, hardworking car washers: Subway at 5129 Evergreen Way, Pizza Hut at 4830 Evergreen Way, and Dominos at 7601 Evergreen Way!

Thank you to all the wonderful community members who came in to get their car washed, patiently waiting in line as we only had one water source, in the heat, who still graciously donated whatever they had with a smile on their face!

Thank you to all the car washers for doing the dirty work! (Washington Reading Corps and the kids who could participate.) Thank you to Linda Jorve (Key Area Coordinator for Washington Reading Corps) for supporting us throughout! And, last but not least, Catholic Community Services for being our sponsor and making our program possible!

I want the community to know how great they are and how great all these people are. The success of our car wash was the work of all these people. I think it is a wonderful thing when the community pulls together for a great cause. The Cocoon House is absolutely a great cause and just thanking everyone doesn’t even come close to the appreciation.
