As someone who was born and raised in Everett, it makes me proud to see events like the high school state volleyball championships coming to our beautiful city. A special thanks is due to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association executive board for selecting the Everett Events Center for the 3A/4A state volleyball tournament, to the Dairy Farmers of Washington and Pacific Northwest Bank for supporting the event.
Approximately 8,164 people from all over the state purchased tickets to attend this two-day tournament. For many people, it was their first time visiting Everett and the new Events Center. Thank you, to the following businesses and individuals that hosted teams: Screen Printing NW; Guardian Records; Coastal Community Bank; the Wicklund Family; Glass by Lund; Mike &Cathy Dire; Alexander Printing; Ray, Mary &Niko Sievers; Coast Real Estate Services; Colleen &Neale Smith; The Andre Family; Roger &Brenda Flake; Everett Family Dental; H&L Sporting Goods; Daryl Boekenoogen, DDS; The McKinnon Family; Abbey Carpet; Covenant Art Glass; Scuttlebutt’s; Las Margaritas; Turners; Arnies; Rich &Tiffany Webber; The Gould Family; Shawn O’Donnell’s; and Dwayne Lane Family of Auto Centers.
Also, thank you to the following businesses that donated food for the volunteers: Whidbey’s; Anthony’s Home Port; Shawn O’Donnell’s; the Flying Pig; Crown Distributing; 25th Street Market; and Alfy’s.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the staff and volunteers who spent many hours making this event possible. We could not have pulled off an event of this magnitude without your hard work.
