I live across the street from the piano on Hewitt and Rucker (“Play it, Everett: Artist-decorated pianos back for Street Tunes,” The Herald, Aug. 3).
When I saw city workers dropping the instrument off, I was concerned about the inevitable ruckus I would be subjected to. Instead, I’ve come to appreciate how many incredibly talented musicians live, work and play in Everett. Day after day I have had the pleasure of hearing forgotten jingles, familiar tunes, scale practice, impromptu jams, and full-on live concert performances.
Thank you Carol Thomas and all the folks at the city of Everett who make Street Tunes possible. And thank you to all the Everett citizens who have graced our streets with the sounds of your beauty.
