My heartfelt thanks go out to the truly impressive University of Washington Marching Band for its performance at the Snohomish-Oak Harbor football game on Sept. 21.
Watching the grand university band approach the football field brought excitement to the crowd. Within minutes there was a huge W spelled out on the field. In another few minutes “HUSKIES” was spelled out. What a thrill for the Snohomish High School Band to play along with the Huskies band.
The Husky baton twirler was most impressive, twirling three batons at one time, with batons reaching thrilling heights. Their energetic cheer squad with their attractive uniforms was so together.
Just as quickly as they appeared on the field they disappeared. I shall never forget the fantastic show they performed and the wonderful examples they set for the Snohomish High School Band, cheerleaders and students. I applaud you!
