Thanks to Lovick for superior work

I’m not writing this letter to express my disappointment in the outcome of the Snohomish County Executive race (I am still disappointed.) I am, however, writing this letter to very publicly say, “Thank you, John Lovick!

John Lovick stepped into the Snohomish County executive role in the wake of a terrible mess left by the previous executive. John, in a way that only John can, stepped in to mend relationships, improve services, open up county government, and move the county forward. When John takes on a job, he “lives” the job. Few people really understand the countless hours, nights, weekends and personal time that he spent focused on improving our county. Oh, sure, he was present at all of the events you’d expect an executive to be at, but he was also present with countless individuals and groups — outside of the limelight and press coverage helping them navigate troubled waters, encouraging them, thanking them for their efforts, and building relationships to help those that need a hand up.

He stepped up to deal with tragedy and disaster — all while showing tremendous leadership, sense of duty, compassion and selflessness. I’ve yet to find someone who rivals John’s energy, work ethic and desire to always make a positive difference.

We will miss you in the executive role, John, but I know there will be a new path for your talents and passion — and you can count on me to be there to support and cheer you on!

Finally, bravo John, bravo!
