Thank you to Marysville citizens who participated in Document Destruction Day on April 26 by bringing their boxes of old personal and financial papers for shredding, and to the city of Marysville’s partners, HomeStreet Bank and Data Base, a secure records destruction company that provided the shredding truck. In all, 257 vehicles — a 200 percent increase over the 2006 event — got rid of documents in an effort to reduce their risk of identity theft. Thanks to HomeStreet Bank and their hard-working staff, 20 of these people won personal home shredders in a random prize giveaway.
Identity theft is very real concern these days. The city of Marysville is pleased to sponsor Documents Destruction Day as a means to send the message to would-be identity thieves that our community is taking responsible steps to keep personal and financial documents from winding up in the wrong hands. Thanks to everyone for a successful event.
