Thanks to Special Olympics for effort to help

I want to thank the Special Olympics and Bill Southern for coming to a recent meeting to discuss the possibility of getting a program going for our kids with special needs in the Snohomish Schools. The Special Ed P.E. instructor retired last year and the position has not been replaced yet, so our kids do not currently get adapted P.E. (which is a special program for special needs kids to have P.E. instruction/activites).

We also lost a wonderful program called Sno-Wheels, which was an after-school social/athletic program for our kids that this person was also running. We are looking at trying to get a in-school and/or after school program going with the Special Olympics and the Snohomish School District. I will be setting up a meeting with them to discuss this further.

I really appreciate the Special Olympics’ time and effort to help us in trying to get something set up for our kids because they need and deserve to have P.E. instruction just like the rest of the kids in the Snohomish schools are getting. I am very thankful for the Special Olympics and hope to have them here soon to help our kids.
