Remember reading Shakespeare in high school? Remember all those bizarre words you couldn’t understand? Many of those words were filthy puns.
We suspect today’s students would read the Bard’s actual plays, and not just the Cliffs Notes, if they knew the old meaning of those words.
For example, who’d guess “angel” and “slipper” have a raunchy meaning? We’d give you more examples, but now that we know what those words mean, they don’t seem proper for a family newspaper.
“Wahoo!” That sound is probably made a lot during motorcycle soccer, a brilliant game created by a local man.
“Sigh.” That sound is probably heard a lot from the wives of the men playing. (Except when they play themselves — then they’re too busy screaming “Wahoo!”)
A trip to SageCliffe in Eastern Washington can include wine, food, swimming, walks, festivals and cute cottages tucked into the cliffs. If that sounds good, take a look at Travel and Leisure today to learn more about it. And if it doesn’t, take a look anyway because obviously you need a chance to get away and relax.
