When I visited my favorite wholesaler a couple days ago, I was greeted by a sign on the door that notified their customers that the state of Washington now requires that state sales tax be collected on all sales of over-the-counter drugs – whether the drugs are purchased for re-sale, or personal use.
Anyone who thinks that the government is going to help with the cost of medicine is sadly mistaken.
This new rule increases the cost of over-the-counter medications by nearly 10 percent.
Help? No way! The name of the game is revenue. And don’t you ever forget it.
