This is in response to the Sept. 7 letter from Linda Day regarding the police as road workers (“Cops working as road workers is wrong”). She says this is wrong? Isn’t it wrong for a road worker to be injured, or worse, killed by a careless driver? If this happened to a loved one of mine, I would welcome the police doing whatever it takes to make some of these careless drivers take care in roadwork zones.
Perhaps Ms. Day should think about the consequences of no police there, or anywhere else! If not for careless drivers, it wouldn’t be necessary for our police to be standing there, pretending to be road workers.
