Regarding Friday’s news article “Split by the System”: The system does not split these families, their bad choices does that for them.
The first one was the fact that this family came to this country illegally, the second one happened when the 15-year-old collided with the law.
What is splitting this family is the consequences of their actions, from parent to child, the choices were wrong. Although my heart goes out to the mother and her children, it is always very hard to raise kids right under any circumstances, but when you as a parent start out doing wrong, the consequences happen to affect the whole family.
Put the blame were it belongs, on the unwise decisions of the individual.
