What was the meaning of your May 22 headline “NASCAR track report rosy”? Did it mean we were going to have the NASCAR track at Smokey Point near the entrance to Arlington Airport or not? “Rosy” to me means no NASCAR in any area.
In a time of war and need for oil conservation, our county should certainly squash this gas-guzzling venture. However, our county executive promotes this arena. Our NASCAR fans and employees ignore the need to conserve oil. This points to what hypocrites some Americans can be.
As a 16-year-old (now an 80-year-old) I could not pass an American flag without my hand to my heart. Now, when I contemplate our history of materialism, I wonder if our materialism leads to war.
