The home screen on my phone is a picture of a book with part of the page turned, and says “Turn the Page.”
Like anything, a newspaper, social media, a conversation, a book, sometimes it’s necessary to simply turn the page. I’m reminded daily to pick my battles, let go of the small stuff and not complain too much.
In the same paper that brought a letter to the editor from a gentleman in Edmonds who was unsure about renewing his subscription, brought an amazing profile from Cameron Van Til about legendary coach Brent Barnes.
The letter asks the question, “should I, or shouldn’t I?” I hope he chose yes, and if you don’t like something in a newspaper, or life in general, try turning the page. Brent Barnes had an amazing impact on Lake Stevens, Snohomish County, the wrestling and sports arena overall. He leaves an incredible legacy. It’s worth the read.
Or read about the North Creek Trail section that’s almost ready, or Isabella Breda’s fantastic story about 100-year old Ferne Ullestad. It seems simple enough to spend time typing a note of praise and gratitude versus the opposite.
Thanks to the staff at The Herald; keep up the solid work.
