In the latter part of 2000, I was walking and noticed a tightness of my stomach muscles and shortness of breath. I exercised three times a week and would feel nothing, but when I walked fast-paced the same tightness kept occurring.
My wife encouraged me to make an appointment with S.E. Wescott, M.D. at Providence Medical Office Building. He referred me to a cardiologist, Lawrence Haft, M.D. After several tests, I was diagnosed with a valve problem. A conference was set up with my family and the decision was made that I would undergo a tricuspidal valve repair with Frank Nieto, M.D.
I spent two weeks in intensive care at the Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus and 10 days of rehabilitation in the Transitional Care Unit at the Pacific Campus. I would like to give words of praise to all people involved in Providence Everett Medical Center. We have excellent medical facilities right here in Everett. Ask me, I know.
