Thurday’s Herald contained so many great articles about beauty and stewardship in our area: wildlife friendly yards on Camano Island, using native plants in our landscaping and Lynnwood sixth graders helping PAWS.
Your features section is entitled “Good Life.” I cannot fathom why some people think that it’s so important to foul our air and water by increasing and commercializing flights from Paine Field. Let’s sit out and have our coffee on the deck while being showered by some jet dumping its fuel so it can safely land.
One of my children and his wife sold their home and moved to Bothell after a plane crashed less than a block from their house two years ago. Think about the legacy you are leaving your children and grandchildren when you complain about the commute to Sea-Tac. In 2009 we will be able to take the Sounder and light rail! Can you be patient and protect what we have left for future generations? In saying that business needs the airport, you are putting earning money ahead of quality of life in importance.
We have done enough to foul our lakes, Puget Sound and the land. How about making decisions from now on to improve our environment? Think about those grandchildren.
