I see by your editorial Wednesday (“Bush power plan would devastate NW economy”) you are very upset that after 70 years of living with artificially depressed power rates, the people of this state may have to actually begin paying what you liberals would normally describe as their “fair share.”
Higher power rates are evident across the country for many reasons. In some places, it’s the lack of nuclear power. Here, it’s opposition to damming the rivers, among other things.
It’s apparent that you would rather fleece the public through higher taxes. You should be happy that Washington got away with basically stealing from the rest of the country for as long as it has.
