This war is about freedom for Iraqis

Do you know that if you lived in Iraq and protested about your government’s decisions, you could be tortured or killed for doing so?

Have you ever talked with an Iraqi family or immigrant who fled Iraq for safety of family and to give the children a better life in the U.S.?

Have you ever thought about why Iraqi soldiers voluntarily surrendered to their captors in order to get away from the dictator they served under? This was during the Desert Storm war in 1991.

Saddam Hussein was “re-elected” recently by 100 percent, but there was no one else on the ballot. His bodyguards and others who serve him do so in fear. He knows where they are at all times, so they cannot leave him or defy him for fear of death.

How would you like to live in a country whose president is a dictator who cares nothing about your life or thousands of others? The present war is about peace and freedom for thousands of Iraqis who are human beings just like us. Our forefathers fought for our peace and freedom. Should we not help others enjoy the same?

As for casualties, do you know that our capabilities for minimizing these, both for our military and for innocent civilians, is much improved since 1991?
