I am amused at Sen. Dino Rossi’s suggestion that his opponent in the endless recount of the gubernatorial race should “be looking at the best interests of the state of Washington … and be gracious.”
Where was the graciousness in the campaigning leading up to the election? I am 67, and because I cherish my right to vote, I have never, ever missed a single election I could vote in. I have probably voted for an equal number of Republicans and Democrats over the years, but I have to tell you that this past election wins the grand prize for viciousness in campaigning and rancorous, outrageous statements all around, in both Washingtons.
Graciousness, indeed! The senator should be forced to view all the advertising on his behalf for as long as the recount continues.
