Those ugly $3 bills take the mud-cake

After reading the article about the $3 bills mocking Barack Obama, I have a shameful confession to make. Until around 10 years ago, I often voted Republican. I am happy to say that I am clean and sober from my Republican problem now for years, but I still mourn many a miscast vote. These $3 hate-bills really take the mud-cake.

The characterization of Obama as a Muslim is a slanderous lie promoted by sleazy politicians and slimy activists. It is also clearly promoting and cultivating a hateful and divisive prejudice against Muslims. Add to that the overtly racist serial number on the bill which translates, “I be de one for you, OK.” Make no mistake. That serial number is pure racism at its ugliest — meant to appeal to the prejudicial tendencies of some of our misguided fellow Americans.

What does the state party chair have to say about the Snohomish County party’s pig-wallow? “I don’t want to micromanage (them).” Not, “You guys are a bunch of bigots with whom I am sorry to be affiliated.” Add to that the party lies and you round out a big fat zero for the Republicans. Lilly says Clark did it. Clark says he doesn’t have a clue what she’s talking about. Go figure. It must have been an Obama-lover trying to disparage the poor, innocent, “compassionate conservatives.”

While I definitely do not consider myself a Democrat, I am strongly inclined to vote for anyone who is likely (read reasonably close in the polls) to prevent a Republican from landing in office. That certainly may include Mr. Obama, who is a Christian (which I am not), not a Muslim (which I am not either), an American and a decent man. The word “decent” is enough in itself, given the lack thereof in our political arena these days.
