With regard to the complainers about the red light cameras in Lynnwood. Before those cameras were installed, you were literally taking your life in your hands driving through the intersection of 196th and 36th as five to seven cars ran red lights daily. This is not an exaggeration, I drive through that intersection at least twice a day.
As to the tickets people have received; You did not come to a full stop, otherwise you wouldn’t have received the ticket. That’s the bottom line. As I said, I drive through Lynnwood to get to and from work every single day and not once have I received a ticket. I am mindful of coming to a full stop as the law requires, even on a “free” right.
Perhaps, rather than blame the city and the cameras for your mistake, a refresher course in driving might be in order? Until then, it’s time to take responsibility for your own actions. I, for one, am eternally grateful that I can drive safely through that intersection without fearing for my life on a daily basis.
