Time for citizens to speak out

Regarding Kristi O’Harran’s Friday column about the Grab and Go Bikini Hut in Arlington: I live in Everett where there is also a Grab and Go stand. It started out with young women dressed similarly to the Arlington stand, but now the workers only wear pasties, barely covering their mostly naked bodies. If I wanted to buy a magazine showing women dressed like this, it would be considered pornography.

Mr. Wheeler’s justification that he donates to cancer and kids in need seems a little lame. Maybe he would also consider donating to centers against sexual abuse and the exploitation of children since research shows that people who commit these crimes have admitted to having an addiction to pornography.

I also have a question for the men, young and old, who go to these baristas. If the young women serving them were their sisters, daughters or granddaughters, would they still go there? If not, Why?

Mr. Wheeler calls our concerns ridiculous. Maybe it’s time for the citizens of Snohomish County to decide if it’s ridiculous to care about our sisters, daughters and granddaughters.
