Has no one ever heard of toll bridges or toll highways?
If my memory serves me, there was a toll on the floating Hood Canal bridge, as well as the first floating Lake Washington bridge and the Tacoma Narrows bridge.
Why shouldn’t the Alaskan Way Viaduct and every bridge, of which there are many, be replaced and paid for by those who use them? It is called a toll.
Think of the benefits! No tax increase on gas. And fairness to all Washingtonians.
