Now Initiative 722 has also been declared unconstitutional; that makes two in a row, including Initiative 695. Everybody should know that “taxes” is always two subjects, “taxes” and “axes,” and that is definitely never allowed.
I have yet to understand how the initiative that outlawed hunting bears over bait and hunting cougar with hounds falls into the category of one subject. This is quite obviously two different animals and two different ways to hunt them. It appears that it takes money to obtain a hearing on the constitutionality of an initiative.
Hopefully I-747 will pass and the voters will finally get what they voted for.
In the meantime if Mr. Eyman wants to start an initiative to roll taxes (one at a time), back to 1995 levels I will do whatever I can to help. If we spent less money on salaries for people in government who tell us how they are going to spend our tax dollars, there would be more to spend on the things that are needed.
