It sounds to me like it is time to investigate the Snohomish Health District.
The Dec. 22 article on the front page about the raising of fees to restaurants is followed by an article on the front of the Local section about the Health District cutting services. Two or three weeks ago there was an article about the Health District eliminating jobs, but the head of it getting more than a substantial raise.
In these times, government agencies should be trying to help small businesses make it, not help put them out of business!
The time has come to investigate and possibly reorganize all government agencies, to be sure that they are not corrupt and that they are being run as efficiently and productively as possible.
After all, they are supposed to be working for us, not against us.
