Good for Val Stevens for pointing out Washington’s fuzzy math problem! (Saturday guest commentary.)
Washington state has been trying to reinvent the wheel in math education for many years, and that is one reason I home schooled my children up through middle school. The curriculum I used was called Saxon Math, which was very popular among the home school movement. It was down to earth, basic math and each lesson was built on the lesson before it.
It’s time for Washington to get back to basics!
