An anti-American sentiment is spreading across the world, where we are viewed as intentionally instituting policies that perpetuate poverty and horrible living conditions in other nations, and that we are only concerned with our own welfare. With this wave of hatred for our country growing, the number of our enemies is increasing daily, and I don’t see anyone addressing the problem. This should bring great concern to all Americans.
This worldwide disgust with our policies and actions has been fueled even further by our invasion of Iraq, which the majority of the planet’s people were against, thinking it was unjustified. Well, as we found out, there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq!
We need to resolve the issues that demand our attention at home, and then try to improve our image and seek diplomatic relations with the nations we’ve alienated.
There’s no more time for power struggles between Democrats and Republicans. We need to improve our own socio-economic shortcomings first, and then reach out to help the poverty- and war-ridden regions of the world.
Only a strong and united Congress can achieve this. Let’s hope the elections can put these processes into motion, and restore the credibility and legitimacy of our great nation.
