The headline in the June 8 Herald, “They’re done shacking up,” about my marriage at 92 to 88-year-old Marilyn Ogden, showed a complete lack of sensitivity with a wise-guy approach without knowing or disregarding important facts.
Marilyn wears braces due to severe medical problems. She moved in with me after a vertebra operation needing around-the-clock care. Her daughter and I agreed on the problem and the solution.
The approach in the newspaper could have thrown a dirty blanket over our otherwise happy wedding time except, we know that the best use for The Herald is to wrap smelly fish.

Editor’s note: No disrespect toward the couple was intended. The headline made reference to a quote from Marilyn Ogden in the story: “I don’t like shacking up. He’s been after me to marry him for a while. I decided maybe it would work.”
