Tony Balk acts upon his convictions

I am writing this letter to endorse Tony Balk for re-election to the Monroe City Council. In the years I have known Tony, I have found him to be a man of great personal integrity with courage of his convictions, really important traits in an elected official. In his past efforts on the council he has worked to improve our community and ensure every tax dollar is spent wisely.

Tony helped taxpayers save their dollars by requiring developers to pay a greater share of development costs. Tony has been at the forefront in working to improve local area traffic problems and joined with his neighbors in helping to stop a proposed gravel pit planned for the Monroe area.

The issues that initially brought Tony to the council are as important today as they were when he first ran for his position: the need for smart growth planning so that the community can thrive while protecting the health of the surrounding rural community; ensuring that developers pay their fair share of new development; working with residents to solve our traffic problems; ensuring efforts to maintain Monroe’s unique quality of life at a cost that we can all afford.

If you feel like I do, that the above issues are still important to all of us and our families in the Monroe area, support Tony Balk with your vote during the upcoming elections.
