As reported by Boeing, the 57-day IAM 751 union strike put the 787 two years behind schedule. This statement would indicate that each Boeing worker performs 13.27 times more work per shift than the national average (the mathematical formula is 2 times 365 divided by 55.) So this data should be the end of all those Lazy B jokes that have been told for years.
Also, right after the start of the strike, the banks and automakers all announced the need for a bailout. This would indicate how much the economy revolves around the gifted and skilled labor force of the IAM 751 union. Or could it just be that the union is just a convenient scapegoat used by the media?
