I have been saying for some time that that the taxpayers are being fleeced by the local school districts.
Here is why:
Lakewood, Marysville, Arlington and Stanwood, to name four, all have their own school districts. Why? They are located within a dozen miles of each other and the taxpayers ar footing the bill for four administrations.
One school district would easily suffice – it would cut down on the overhead and the more money could be put into the classrooms, used for teachers and supplies etc.
Why isn’t this done? Everyone is protecting their own fifedoms is the only real answer and it’s the wrong answer. Cut costs and use the money available to educate kids, which should be the No. 1 priority, always!
