I would like to extend some first-hand knowledge to voters in regard to the election for Everett District Court judge. I have been a court clerk at the Everett District Court for nine years. Before that, I worked as a legal secretary for four years at Snohomish County Public Defender Association.
Lorrie Towers has 14 years of experience in the legal field with eight of those years at Everett District Court. Tam Bui states she regularly substitutes for EDC judges; she has been a substitute judge at EDC a total of four days in the last two years. By contrast, half of Lorrie’s legal practice consists of her serving as a judge pro-tem in our county.
Retiring judge Thomas E. Kelly has endorsed Towers to replace him. He has worked with both candidates and finds Lorrie to be the most qualified. I also have worked closely with both candidates. I worked with Lorrie at EDC. I worked with Tam at Snohomish County Public Defender Association and at EDC (on the rare occasion she filled in for one of the EDC judges). Who would be more qualified to choose the best candidate than the people who have worked with both candidates? Towers is by far the most qualified candidate for judge.
